About the Ford F-150

The F-150 is the very definition of the American pickup truck. For decades, the F-series has been the best-selling vehicle in the US, and it sets the bar for the rest of the full-size pickup market. The F-150 manages to maintain this position by constantly evolving, and being the truck that always brings new and highly useful features to the segment. Turbocharging, aluminum bodies, and hybrid and fully electric drivetrains that are still capable of impressive towing, all of those were introduced first on the F-150. With an extensive list of factory options and configurations, it’s easy to get an F-150 just the way you want it, be it a work truck, a highway trailer hauler, or an offroad machine. Advanced driver aids and the latest in Ford infotainment software make the F-150 an enjoyable place to be, whatever you use it for, not to mention a tool to make whatever job you’re on easier.

What the Critics Say

“The Ford F-150 is our highest-rated full-size truck of 2023 and a Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Award winner.” — Kelley Blue Book

“The Ford F-150 is a full-size pickup truck that can be configured in a multitude of ways, from a basic work truck to a luxurious toy hauler to an extreme off-road machine. The F-150 is a supremely versatile pickup, which is why it's our favorite light-duty truck available today.” — Edmunds

What's New for 2023

There is a new offroad package for 2023, known as the Rattler. This offers some of the same equipment as the Raptor or Tremor, but is based on the XL FX4, meaning a lower price point. Opting for the Rattler gets you offroad suspension, a locking differential, dual exhaust, unique 18-inch wheels, hill descent control, and Rattler badging.

Ford F-150 Features

Powerful Performance

The F-150 configuration options offer real choice in a way that competitors don’t. More than just offering a few different largely similar options with different outputs, Ford lets you choose from a variety of engine types, including powerful EcoBoost engines, a class-exclusive hybrid, an EV (covered separately), and the performance-minded Coyote V8. Raptor varieties can reach 700 factory horsepower, but even the standard F-150 is available with up to 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque, quite an impressive amount. The F-150 has a maximum towing capacity of 14,000 pounds when properly equipped, another best-in-class rating for a truck that’s used to leading the pack. There is no configuration of the F-150 that isn’t extremely capable, and those wanting even more power, towing capacity, or offroad ability have an easy time upgrading.

Ford F-150 Interior

Functional Comfort

With the F-150, comfort becomes one of the qualities that make it such a functional pickup. Nobody wants to spend hours or even days on the highway towing a trailer in an uncomfortable truck. That’s why Ford added available features like Max Recline seats, which let you recline the front seats to be almost entirely flat, converting into a bed for those days when circumstances force you to sleep in your truck. The available Interior Work Surface lets you convert the interior into an office, complete with a gear selector that folds flat for extra space. Creature comforts include options like a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, heated and ventilated leather seats, and ambient lighting. There is even an available B&O® Unleashed Sound System by Bang & Olufsen that includes 18 speakers, including a subwoofer.

Ford F-150 SYNC 4

Cutting-Edge Technology

Technology has always given the F-150 an edge, and that’s as true for things like the infotainment system as it is for the advanced drivetrain options. Whether equipped with the standard screen or the available 12-inch infotainment screen, the F-150 comes with Ford’s latest software, the SYNC® 4. This includes standard features like wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, as well as SYNC AppLink®, which gives you the option to use apps like Waze and Ford+Alexa natively, without having to exit SYNC®. You can also access Co-Pilot360™ 2.0, which gives you real-time on-demand map and road hazard information, letting you circumvent long delays or dangerous conditions. Semi-autonomous driving tech on the F-150 includes the available Active Drive Assist, a hands-free version of cruise control that lets you kick back and relax on more than 100,000 miles of compatible highways in the US and Canada.
